As the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Burkina Faso points out: “AFRICALLIA is a multi-sector forum for business development; it is held every two years in Burkina Faso since the 1st edition in 2010. It differs from traditional trade fairs because it is a unique platform for individual and personalized business meetings between companies from ECOWAS and the rest of the world. ECOWAS is a common external tariff and soon a common currency. It is the second most populated region of Africa after Southern Africa. AFRICALLIA to meet its vocation as a traveling business forum in the West African sub-region relocated for the first time in 2019 to the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the restrictive measures that followed, the forum could not be held in 2020. AFRICALLIA allows leaders and business leaders to tour Africa of the West in 48 hours in one place to seek technological, commercial or financial alliances".

At the end of the official opening ceremony of the forum on October 20, a high-level panel will be held on "International tools for financing private projects and major structuring projects of WAEMU".
