TOPIC : Due to the negative effects of climate change and the impact of human beings on their environment, the issue of renewable energies has become an essential alternative in many areas. Africa cannot remain on the sidelines and it should have long ago invested through its major sub-regional groups in training and research in technologies and control of solar energy.

In some European countries, there is already more and more talk of the prospect of making solar roofs, within a few years, as a building standard. Thus, all new homes would have solar panel roofs. Electricity is gaining preponderance in all areas and even countries that are least exposed to the Sun will seek its contribution in order to alleviate their electricity problems.

QUESTION: While they have the sun almost permanently all year round unlike the rest of the world, the countries of Africa also have enormous electricity problems, paradoxically. What do you think needs to be done now in Africa to transform the Sun into a source of energy or electrification, and this instead of what African states expect from Europe, the United States, China, etc. . as they have always done, hypothetical and costly electrification programs for local populations?
