DR CONGO/TRANSPORT: Minister Ekila receives 10 new Mercedes-Benz buses for the benefit of Transco

Me Marc EKILA LIKOMBO, Minister of Transport, Roads of Communication and Opening up, received, this Thursday, April 11, 2024, on behalf of the government, 10 new Mercedes Benz brand buses, assembled in Kinshasa by the Suprême Auto factory for the benefit of the Congo Transport Company (Transco).

This is the 2nd batch after that of 21 buses received in November 2023 by the Head of Government Jean – Michel Sama LUKONDE.

With a capacity of 49 seats, these buses are equipped with internal and external cameras to enhance the safety of the vehicle and passengers.

After an inspection visit on explanations from those responsible for Supreme Auto in the presence of Cyprien MBERE, CEO of Transco, a technical test followed to the government building where the exchange of official documents took place vehicles at the Transport cabinet.

During this sober ceremony, Cyprien MBERE, CEO of Transco, praised the political will of the Head of State via the Sama LUKONDE government.

“Obtaining the new buses is a reason for satisfaction,” he expressed while pleading for compliance with monthly delivery of buses by Suprême Automobile partners.

Me Marc EKILA, for his part, thanked Suprême auto for the delivery of these new buses before reassuring that the government will never fail to meet its obligations, particularly in terms of fuel.

Suprême auto officials have reassured about the regular monthly delivery of at least 11 to 12 buses.

Well before in the morning, Me EKILA visited the new warehouse at Suprême auto in Ndjili Brasserie where brand new FORCE – Mercedes Benz Mini buses are on display. These imported vehicles will also be assembled on site in the coming months.

For the Minister of Transport, communication routes and opening up, these mini buses are part of the government program aimed at renewing automobile transport in the DRC, and more particularly in the city of Kinshasa.

These 25-seat buses will help improve travel conditions for people on public transport.
