The Gabonese urban transport company (Trans'Urb) reached a crucial stage in its development by holding its first ordinary session of its board of directors on Friday April 5, 2024. Led by Valentin Mbaga Bouassa, this meeting marked a new beginning for Trans'Urb, which had been operating for four years without legal status, in particular due to the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Speakers at this meeting underlined their commitment to strengthening the organization, performance and contribution of the company to the socio-economic development of Gabon. The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Valentin Mbaga Bouassa, for his part underlined the company's desire to improve its operations and its impact on the community. He declared: “Trans’Urb aims to improve its working environment. It is on this dynamic that we will, with strength and courage, but above all urgently, take some concrete actions.”

The board meeting also provided an opportunity to ratify key appointments, including the chairman of the board, directors and general managers. Michel Assoume Nzoghe, the general director of Trans'Urb, underlined the importance of this step in the legalization of the company, specifying: "We have carried out the validation of all the acts which were carried out by the former team, particularly with regard to operation in terms of contract and agreement.”

Under the leadership of Michel Assoume Nzoghe, Trans’Urb has already made several significant advances, such as the acquisition of 10 new buses and the improvement of social security coverage for staff, the establishment of staff delegates. However, the management team remains determined to continue its development.

The company's medium-term plans include the implementation of new employee benefits, the conduct of audits in various areas, the acquisition of new buses, the construction of infrastructure and the deployment of activities across the country, affiliation with the international public transport association UITP… “These actions will lead towards a course that we want to be clear. Through a three-year program contract signed between the Minister of Transport, the Merchant Navy and the Sea and an annual performance contract signed with the Board of Directors and the General Director of Trans'Urb, for the 2024 financial year, specified Valentin Mbaga Bouassa.
